What should I be aware of when installing my fountain?
In all cases, the fountain must be set up in a firm, level position. This is essential for stability as well as for an even flow of water. A patio deck, paving stones or compacted gravel is a suitable base for smaller items, for larger pieces paving or a concrete base will be necessary.
Think about splash if your fountain is one where the water flows from height. If there is likely to be splash then the base should have good drainage so the fountain does not sit in water which could become ice in winter.
Never set the fountain up onto earth, grass or any other surface which will sink when wet.
Ensure you have enough manpower to lift heavier items. The pump must be supplied through a residual current device (RCD) with a residual operating current not exceeding 30mA. It should be either permanently connected to the fixed wiring of the mains system or via a weatherproof cable connector - If in any doubt a qualified electrician should be consulted.
